Missions

The Missions committee at Hopewell focuses on outreach to local, regional, and worldwide ministries. We are the hands and feet of God as we support many programs with our gifts and talents.

Schools on Jenkins Road

Hopewell has been a good neighbor for Burch Elementary School, Sandy Creek High School. We support them with prayers as well as school supplies and backpacks. Also, members bring baked treats for teachers.

Fayette Samaritans

We support Fayette Samaritans. They are a Christian ministry serving families in Fayette County in critical need of food, clothing and emergency financial assistance.

The Real Life Center

We support the Real Life Center. They provide a safe environment, share the love of Christ, and promote long-term change through food, clothing, financial assistance & budgeting, educational classes, fresh produce, networking and referrals, career help.

Midwest Food Bank

We support Midwest Food Bank. They share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition locally and throughout the world and providing disaster relief; all without discrimination. 

Veteran Program at Camp Southern Ground

We support Camp Southern Ground. During summer months, they host kids ages 7-17 for week-long, inclusive, residential camps, bringing together typically developing children, children with neurodevelopmental differences, underserved kids, and kids from military families.

The rest of the year is dedicated to supporting post-9/11 veterans at no cost.

Healing4Heroes

We support Healing4Heroes. They help our military personnel and veterans move forward after being wounded both physically and/or mentally with the assistance of service animals. Healing4Heroes also saves the lives of unwanted shelter dogs by rescuing them and training them to become fully trained, A.D.A. complaint service animals. 

Rise Against Hunger

We support Rise Against Hunger. They are an international hunger relief non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other aid to people in developing nations.

UMCOR

We support the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). They are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. UMCOR’s work reaches people in more than 80 countries, including the United States. We provide humanitarian relief when war, conflict, or natural disaster disrupt life to such an extent that communities are unable to recover on their own.

Homeless Shelters

We support local homeless shelters. United Methodist Men at Hopewell organizes service opportunities to provides home-made meals with a group of ten members and also collect socks and toiletries items several times a year. 

Royal Animal Refuge 

Royal Animal Refuge's mission is to promote animal welfare and responsible pet ownership, find homes for unwanted pets, provide humane care for all animals in our care, educate the community about the problems of unwanted, neglected, and abused animals and help people keep their animals through spay and neuter, vet care and other help as needed.
